Dominika Baran
MANAGER/ LEAD FACILIATOR AND MENTOR
(Registered Person, SENCO, Data Protection, Designated Safeguarding Lead)
Dominika is a qualified Steiner Early Year’s Teacher, Forest school practitioner and outdoor educator and holds a BA in Arts and Cultural Management.
She has worked with children and families for over 15 years and is passionate about outdoor learning, bushcraft and ancient crafts, sustainable living, organic food growing, weaving & felting, seasonal celebration, and craft.
Dominika recently completed Permaculture Design Certificate for Educators – Engaging Children in Permaculture. She is also a recipient of scholarship from School of Stitched Textiles where she studied Felting.

Foundation in Eco-psychology and nature based practice – currently studies Advance pathways with Natural Academy.

Emma McGuinness​
WOODLAND HOLIDAY CLUB GROUP LEADER/ Deputy safeguarding lead
Emma lives in Bath and is qualified Early Years Educator and Waldorf Early years Teacher as well as Forest school practitioner who loves to spend time with children out in nature, enjoying all the seasons together as they come and go.Â
She enjoys helping children to create with natural materials, to tell stories and other crafts. She has three big boys and a dog and cats.
Emma also has a degree in English literature.
Our Leaders are fully insured
Have outdoor first aid training as well as advance safeguarding training and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service certificates (DBS).
Ruby
Ruby has been working with Creative Roots for two years, starting off as a volunteer, then continuing on to work as a forest school assistant for the past year. She is currently training to be a Forest School leader, and is beginning a training in Eco-psychology with Natural Academy.
When she isn’t at Creative Roots she works at a Forest School Kindergarten in Bristol.
Outside of work Ruby loves to spend her time out on the land, or developing ancestral crafts and skills such as knitting, pottery, herbalism, and foraging. She is also a qualified yoga teacher, and loves to practice yoga, dance, and climbing.
When at Creative Roots she brings her love of storytelling, creativity, mindfulness, and nature connection.
Carmen Jones
Carmen is a qualified forest school leader, dancer and nature lover. Growing up on a farm as well as studying as a child at Steiner school and also attending art college were all major influences that lead her to her forest school vocation.
She especially enjoys working with children creatively using arts, crafts and storytelling to explore nature’s cycles with an aim to encourage learners to gain a deeper nature connection.
She has 3 children, is an environmentalist, martial artist, forest bather and loves walking.

Heidi Logie

Heidi has volunteered with Creative Roots for more than 2 years and is currently undertaking her Forest School Leader training. She grew up in Cornwall and spent her days exploring nature, imagining and enjoying creative activities, and is very happy to be able to share these joys with children through Forest School.

Heidi is passionate about holistic child led learning and has a particular interest in supporting children with send to help them feel safe, supported and included.

When not in the woods, Heidi can be found adventuring with her own children and creating picture books.
